About this artwork:
The center of the artwork is a 13" x 13" beveled glass mirror with a fleur de lys in beveled glass relief. The glass of the fleur di lis has been gilded by artist Linda Paul on the back in pure 24 karat gold flecks then backed in pure copper leaf. The glass shimmers and reflects light like jewels. Surrounding the mirror is both silver and copper backed hand gilded beveled glass with inlaid flecks of 23 karat gold. The pieces of beveled glass and center mirror are mounted on a 2" thick cradled board. The sides are hand-painted in a copper color. |
This ready to hang frameless contemporary artwork can be a focal point for any room in your house. It can even take the humidity of a bathroom . As the light changes in the room so does the artwork. Its especially pretty with candlelight reflected into the glass.
The beauty and shimmering effects of the metals reflected though each glass bevel is hard to capture in a photograph. In the side view picture
(above) you can see the reflection of green leaves in the upper part of the mirror. In the lower part of the mirror and in the bottom rows of glass tile you can see a reflection of gravel.
Custom orders: These can be custom made in other shapes and sizes and the metals can also be changed. For example , you may prefer to have silver or gold surrounding the outer edges instead of copper. A set of three can be created as well.
Note. Its very difficult to photograph a mirror straight on without getting the camera and yourself reflecting back in the mirror. The mirror in the picture (above left) is reflecting a tin foiled board placed opposite. It is a true mirror.
Cleaning is a breeze! Just use Windex and a soft cloth. (Its best to spray the glass cleaner on the cloth rather than directly on the artwork)
