Artist's Inspirations: When I travel in the
Mediterranean, I always love to stay on the top
floor of a pensione or small locally owned hotel.
I love the view and its fun to see all the life that
goes on in the rooftops. The clay tiles and
the plant life that grows on them always fascinates
me.

This original work of art has great texture and
beautiful Mediterranean colors. I make my own paint
from natural earths and ground stones combined with
egg yolk . The colors are so perfectly Mediterranean
because the stones and pigments that I use come from
Europe. I collect them in the same places and from
the same mines and painters did hundreds of years
ago. This beautiful one of a kind painting
will last for centuries

About egg tempera paintings:
Linda Paul uses natural crushed stone & earth mixed with a bit of water and egg yolk to make her paint. Blues come from crushed lapis lazuli, greens from malachite & natural green earth found around Verona Italy. She uses fascinating colors which have been "lost" for hundreds of years & new colors which she has discovered in the Rocky Mountains. Her earth ochers come from the ancient mines of France & Italy.
